On the way to the office this morning to catch up, and noticed a car in the rear view mirror.

I was a little perplexed looking the at the hood coming up behind me, but I could tell it was something sweet looking.

The new Camaro.

Got to say, impressed with the looks and style.

I liked what Ford did with the Mustang, but have to say the Camero looks even better. Nice way of blending new with trying to keep with the old.

Kind of wish I were single again:D

One of my (single) friends at work saw the need to buy one of those last week. He has been showing it off and I must say that I am equally impressed. I really don't want one though. If I "really" did, my wife would let me get one if possible... then again... if I wished I was single, show would probably let me have that too... he he.

Yeah, I agree with you, they did a great job at making the new car resemble the older style. Even down to the ralley rims.

Agreed, it's a very nice looking car. What I can't figure out is why they took so long to get it out? They've had it in the magazines and car shows for years now, then they had it in the first Transformers movie, but still not out in the dealers. Ford has been selling the Mustang without any competition for decades now and GM is just now getting off their duff.

That Camaro sure is good looking. The real head turner for me being as I look for "go" more than "show" is the stock V6 3.6l pumping out 304HP/273Lb.Ft. and the optional V8 6.2l with 426HP/420lb.ft. and a curb weight of about 3800lbs. Those are impressive numbers.

I still prefer the Challenger because to me it has more of the muscle car looks to it and it has more engine options with the stock V6 3.5l 250HP/250lb.ft, HEMI V8 5.7l 372HP/400lb.ft and the SRT HEMI V8 6.1l 425HP/420lb.ft. in a package with a curb weight of about 4000lbs. Plus the Challenger can be had for MSRP or less unlike the Camaro but I am sure that will change soon. I would love to own either but my best vehicles have been Mopar's.

It would be a good race between them, it's good to see the muscle car wars coming back.

Mileage on the V6 is good-- course, that's what VVT and overhead cams will do for you; only took --how many years?-- for US cars to begin to give up their pushrods....

Saw one of the new Camaros the other day; while it wasn't horribly unattractive, to me it was kinda suggestive of a more aerodynamic Pontiac Aztec...

I'll take my 1900ccs of TDI diesel, rubber in all 5 gears if pushed hard, and the 50-ish highway mpg, thanks. But it is nice to see some attempts at efficiency gains in domestic cars.:D

The Yellow one in the movie looked sweet, so far the ones I've seen up close I didn't care for as much. It may be the color choices I've seen. Price range wasn't to bad.

Sure wont trade my vette for one.

autoweek already ran the camero, challengar, and mustang....camero won!

mind you this was not the SRT challenger, but just normal highend versions.

the challenger is a good straight line machine, still can't turn, just like the old one.

top gear ran the srt and didnt like it also.

Ahhh the look of the 69 Camaro.

That was my first car when I was 16, a 1969 Camaro RS. Went with my Dad and he signed for it but I paid for it by working nights after school as a cook. Price, it was $2,995.00.

I may have to get one for nostalgic reasons when they price settles down a bit. I've got a wedding anniversary coming up I wonder if I can pass it off as a gift for "my wife". Ya that's he ticket, I'm sure she would like the 426 with the 6 speed manual - whatdaya think?

Works for me. Toss in a circular saw, a welder and something for the tractor to seal the deal.:D
