When checking the fluid levels in the transmission, front end (1610D) do you screw the stick back in after wiping it off to check the level or leave it rest on the housing? Thanks

This has been discussed Quite a bit here latelly & Those that Know for sure & have Manuals, Say uncrew it , Wipe it of & just sit it back on top to check it . Hope that helps . :D . Bob, Welcome BTW

The manual on page 40 states to remove the transmission dipstick and wipe clean and RE-INSERT, oil should be at the top of the flat part of the stick or below. The front axle states to remove plug on top of the axle, wipe dipstick clean and re-insert but DO NOT THREAD BACK IN. You might want to get a manual from one of the dealers here at this site. I got mine and my tractor from RCO in Austin TX. Lots of good info in there.
