I just changed my hydro fluid in my 2520, 70 hours. Scary find. I spent hours getting the metal shards, chunks and splinters out of the filter and my hands. Wear gloves when you do it! Live and learn I suppose.

I removed the magnets, and washed mine with Diesel fuel at 50 hours. Mine did not have a much as your appears to have, but washed up quickly.

Thanks for the info, I hope my new 2520 is in by the end of the week. This wait is killing me.

Yours look clean compared to mine. My magnets were covered in shavings. As a matter of fact I had no ideas there was 4 magnets in the screen.

I had been having issues with my hydraulics, and it was due. Surely being 20 hours past first change didn't make it look that way. I know 4 hours of it was at idle.

That is a lot of metal and the color is darker than it should be. Hope your warranty is good because something bad is going on there.:(

What is the standard transmission oil change interval for the JD2520? My 4520 does not require it for 400 hours.

According to my operator's manual:
After the firrst 50 hours
Change engne oil and filter.
Change transmission oil and filter.
Clean transmission suction screen.

After that it's every 200 hours.

I may have been 20 hours late but that is no excuse for the shrapnel I found.

200 hours is too long in my opinion for such a small amount of fluid.

Either way in 10 hours I will be flushing it out again.
