I just picked up a set of check chains for my 1963 Ford 2000 tractor, and it did not include the bolts to mount the brackets to the rear end, surrounding the PTO output shaft. Does anybody know what size bolts I need to purchase to attach the brackets?

Thanks..!!

Are you reusing existing bolt/bolt holes or do you have open hole to put bolts in....

I personal would use larges bolts that fit the situation... For added security, grade 8...

Mos of the check chains I have seen attach to the pin at the base of the top link. You may need a longer 3/4" pin to account for the thickness of the brackets.

Thanks all. The proper bolts are 7/16"-14 x 1.38". Needless to say, the local home improvement center didn't have them in 1.38" length, so 1.5" with some extra washers it was.
