Considering a hydraulic tilt for the 3 point box blade prompted me to call around to some tractor dealers. Although readily available, the prices were a little steep. As an alternative(attachment) I ordered a ram from Surplus Center and bought a cheap top link arm from Fleetr Farm. After measuring the length of travel I needed I cut the one end of the threaded pivot arm to length and welded it to the ram. Gave me the ability for hydraulic tilt via the rear block and saved a couple hundred from what the dealers quoted. All was done for under a hundred includind hoses, fittings and top links assy. Hope this helps someone out.

Nice innovation. I hope the cylinder modification works well for you. Like your idea and much cheaper than a most setups and should work great.

Does your cylinder have a 8" travel?
