Just finished redoing my landscaping/rock rack. So, I decided to weld up a toothbar. I got the shanks, teeth and pins off of ebay for $175. I already had the steel. The plate steel is 3/8 inch and the side brackets that are welded on are 3/8" as well. Since I already had the steel, total bill is $175. The shanks, teeth and pins were made by Fabco Ind. The cheapest 6 foot heavy duty toothbar I could find was $450 dollars (shipping not included). I cant understand why they are selling them at such a high price. Just thought I'd share my toothbar with others. Maybe someone else will take the same route I took and build them one instead of paying the high price.

Good job. Thanks for sharing.

Nice welds, from what I can see...

Looks exactly like the 6 ft. toothbar I bought from Markham Welding for about $365. You couldn't have done better. Some of us are limited in our ability and resources and are forced to BUY rather than build. I've been told the Markham tooth bar has Fabco parts also and they are highly recommended on TBN. That's the very reason I bought one. Toothbar away, it's great.

Nice job on the tooth bar and pictures. Especially good looking welds too.
You can save a lot of money with a little talent and elbow grease, like you've done here.
Thanks for sharing.

LetsRoll,

Very nice job. Do you have the Fabco Part Numbers for the shanks, teeth and pins? They look like a very good fit on the cutting edge.

Thanks

glmf,

Thank You for that link, I can see that a toothbar will be a needed addition after my tractor arrives.

Hey GLMF,

Thanks for the link. What size tooth did you use on your bar? The A-162 or the A-175-1.

Thanks,
