When I got my Mobley I got it at Best Buy, an electronics store here. The AT&T rep at the store activated it for me. I bought the device with no contract so I'm month to month. After I purchased it I went out into the parking lot, plugged it into my truck and it worked. Has worked at the house just fine ever since with no timeout. I have it connected to my Asus router, works great. Hope it continues. I don't use a lot of data and I stream very seldom. So hopefully they will leave me the **** alone. Plus I live rural so probably not much traffic on my tower.

Who knows? They could as easily just keep it around for eons as drop it soon. Only time will tell.

Good thing there are now various other options that do the same thing and some aren't super expensive either. In fact, in another thread there is talk of another current AT&T plan for $30/mo unlimited. I also suspect that as 5G rolls out in coming years it will make 4G plans like these more ubiquitous and affordable.

The other plan is the harmon spark i spoke of earlier, was $30, i saw it last night on at&t site for $20. It has limitations.

Keep in mind whoever is selling these mobleys now, it is not at&t. It looks like someone like chrysler have these to sell, but never did, so they still have an at&t sim that was never activated.

I hope they keep the mobley plan also, it's what i use.

We will see a lot more options in the near future. But doubtful they will be $20 a month. It has worked well for me, and I hope it continues. But if it doesn't, oh well, that's the way it goes.

The spark is now $20 month unlimited.
However it checks for the car being on. Im currently investifgating building a spoofer that would keep it active, using a rasberry pi and a CAN bus module. Might have to send it a fake "vehicle is running" message.
This might be my backup plan if the mobley deal goes away.

I have been kicking myself for not getting in on the deal the first time around. Still watch this thread to poor salt on the wound or get justification for not doing it by reading of it's passing. Saw this morning that it was back and placed my order. Thanks for the update!

The sad part is, I (and I suspect a lot of others) would gladly pay $60/mo for a plan that worked and was easy to use.

My Mobley died shortly after it's one year warranty. It quit several times before that but would come back to life. AT&T rep even told me to send it back to ZTE before the warranty ended but somebody here suggested I hold the reset button down longer. That worked to get me past my warranty period then it sure nuff died and wouldn't come back. I picked up a used ZTE Velocity off ebay and stuck the sim in that. When I log in to my account it shows me with a ZTE Velocity. Plan hasn't changed and I'm purring along. I still have to restart periodically and I think they even throttle me sometimes but for the most part it slays what I had with a Centurylink DSL. Hope it stays good!
