I just had warranty work done on a new TN75DA for the 3rd time this past year and was charged for travel time to come and fix the tractor. Round trip is about 36 miles and this is the first time they did this. They didn稚 have the courtesy to tell me when I spoke to them on the phone to schedule the appointment; they instead mailed a bill. I would think there has to be some type of travel time built into warranty work, and it makes me wonder if the dealer is double dipping...

I plan on resolving this Monday, but I wanted to see if anyone else has to pay travel time.

Your warranty specifically states that hauling and probably travel time is not covered under warranty. Warranty work is only covered in the dealer's shop and it is your responsibility to get you rmachine there. If the dealer covers it, it is coming out of his pocket.

I would double check the terms of the Manufacturer's written warranty...

What Andy said. If they payed it the first two times, it was out of their pocket.

My tractor came with stickers on it stating that pick up and return charges for warranty work are NOT covered by the warranty. Greg

I doubt travel time is covered under warranty...
However it was a little cheesy to not tell you in advance there would be a charge and give you the option to bring it to them:confused:

Don't know about warranty work and what is covered. I do however know about thinking that all service work should be "free." With fuel costs going through the roof, the days of "free" or "no charge" are over. I had to have a plumber come to my house about a month ago....charged for travel which was on 24 miles.

If Uncle Sam gives you 50 cents a mile on your income tax for mileage....think what is the actual cost.

Get out your operators manuel, look in the first couple pages at the Limitation of Liability page. This is a copy of the warranty paper you signed when you purchased the tractor. When you signed it you agreed to deliver the unit to the dealer for warranty or pay travel expense.

My dealer places a sicker on the dash stating that travel or hauling the tractor is not included in warranty. With that said though last year my thermostat went and they came out and replaced it (about 60 miles) without charging anything. Although I understand that day they were also going to work on another tractor in my area.

Did you have the courtesy to thank them for eating the first two trips? New Holland does not pay travel time or pick up and delivery charges for warranty work.
