I'm changing the transmission/hydraulic fluid in my 7234 next week and was wondering if anyone has used something other than the Cub Cadet brand hydraulic transmission fluid. I've also got a Kubota ZD21 and was hoping I might find a fluid that would replace both the Kubota UDT fluid and the Cub Cadet hyd/trans fluid. Maybe I'm dreaming, but it would be nice to just keep one fluid on hand for both machines.

I have used Kubota UDT in my CC 7360 for several years with no ill effects. The Kubota dealer is a lot closer to me than the Cub dealer and the Cub dealer is a highway robber. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Is your CC7360 a gear drive or a hydrostatic?

It's gear with shuttle shift. I don't think the 7360 came as an HST. Besides, I'm an old fashioned guy, only gears for me.... don't like HST. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

The 7360ss was only a manuel. My Cub Dealer, who has been in the same family for 40+ years, says use "Case HY/TRAN". This is all he uses and all he recommends. He has been in the top 10 as far as sales for Cub(mtd) in the compact tractors and is aggressive as far as the sales go. I put the HY/TRAN in both my 7360ss and in my 7265 which is a hydro. I also put HY/TRAN in both Kubotas that I had before the cubbys. I put over 200hrs a year on each tractor and on the Kubotas before and never a problem. I still like to complain about the price of the FILTERS.

Chubby, did your Kubotas that you used HY/TRAN in have HST tranny or gear drive?

Ronster I thought I answered your email at my login the other day. I use a Brand called Cling Tuf (5 GAL Bucket) here in southern Maine in my 7234. I thought when I needed more I would probably go to the NAPA brand. I think their oils used to be Valvoline.

Both Kubotas were grear driven. My 7265 is hydro. Cub cadet dealer says HY/TRAN. Hever any problems. When you are brush cutting tall stuff, over 6' and all the fallout plugs your air intakes and plugs your radiator screen and after awhile the radiator has to be blown out and you have one eye on the gage one eye on the ground hog holes and you don't stop untill the red is showing and this is any hourly happening the hydro never skips a beat. Or when it is so cold that the snow your pushed 2 hours ago is now an iceberg the hydro still never misses a beat. No I don't sell HY/TRAN I just use what the dealer said.

MAJMAC392, no I didn't get your answer 'til just now. Thanks for the info. I looked at a 5 gal. can of Amilie All-Trac 245. It listed alot of brand name fluids it was equal to including Kubota UDT and HY-TRAN. I guess I'll go with the Amalie All-Trac since it's available nearby . I ordered my new front end loader on Monday and I'll change all the fluids when I hook this baby up.
