I just saw that the "How do you poo?" title was changed to "What Kind Of Septic System Do You Have?"

Is it now possible to edit the title or was that done by a moderator?

I sure hope so. I've had a few embarassing misspellings on the titles, and wish I could go back and correct them.

Twern't me. I guess the word P-- is not "family friendly"
I guess if somebody wants to change the title, its their site, but at least they could at least get my original question correct.

I think the "Family Friendly" TBN theme is sometimes taken too far...censoring words that we use with infant children is a little much...and before all of you "thumbed up noses" make your comments about grown men and childish remarks, I say "take some of your tractor money and go buy a sense of humor".

I find it interesting that the thread entitled "OH Sh*t Moment " has not been retitled...I guess if he had said "OH Poo Moment" it would have been changed:laughing:

It all depends on who reads what, and if they slammed their finger in the car door that morning or not.

You're half right, the front half.

I get a kick out of people who claim to appreciate how TBN is administered and the atmosphere it creates yet when they are corrected, the moderators and administrators have 'taken it too far'.:confused2:

You can edit a title within the 24 hour editing window.

As for "How do you poo" ... I didn't have a problem with the title but I kind of like the new title better. I guess if you guys really want the original title back, we could change it... :p

For me...I wasn't personally offended by the "How do you poo?" title. I thought it was innocent enough and was certainly a distinct way of garnering attention to the thread...gave me a chuckle, as a matter of fact...kind of refreshing on a morning full of bad news on the television. Now, the title "OH S--- moment" was a little over the top and testing boundaries, IMO.

This is just my opinion...but I think there should be a "sticky" describing how to properly title a post...

As for the title of recent topic "How do you poo"...is this really what the OP wanted to know?

Not pointing out any specific post or member but it irks me to see a post titled "need help"....or "not trying to start anything"

IMO, the title should be an abbreviated version of the content of the post...A short, succinct missive that at least gives the casual reader a hint of what the post is about...

Yup! ( a catch phrase of the topic at hand )

I just saw the "How to Poo.." title and couldn't figure out why anyone would want to know how I Poo. So I didn't read it .... (some must like the word).

The Septic system title was quite a bit more to the point, I think, and should be what title's are all about.

For future use and searches, someone searching out information on septic systems wouldn't have this poo thread come up or wouldn't bother to read it for information that might be helpful.

I'm with muhammad.....drop the poo.

Just for the record(because obviously some people didn't read the original post) I didn't change the title. More to the point the "revised" title didn't reflect the question I asked.
As I said earlier the owners of this site can post anything or nothing, Its their site(Freedom of the Press, belongs to those that own one) But my hope would be that one: If they don't want controversial items, they should say that, and not use the word "politics" to mask anything that they don't want to deal with.
Secondly, I think it discourteous to pull a posting that someone took the time and energy (and provide content to the website) without even a explanation as to why, particularly if that person asks for a response, when making a good faith effort to stay within the boundaries
set out.
That being said, I guess I'll see how long this stays up.
BTW Do you really think that a post "Protecting the Pilchard" is "political"

(and provide content to the website)

Sorry But do you really think that posting a title ""How do you poo" is viable content? (except maybe for something to be discussed with your proctologist)...c'mon...IMO it was not only in bad taste it did not have anything to do with your actual question...which only leads one to question your motives...i.e., >>>see how long this stays up.<<<

Bottom line is...

1. If you're posting a thread to be useful, try to make the title as useful and descriptive as possible. If it's not, we may change it.

2. No need to fill up the forum with nonsense, that has never been our style.

3. No need to debate about thread titles any more. Let's get back to talking about poo (I mean, septic systems).

I think the admins have enough work to do, without posters trying to push their limits to try to figure out how far they can go.

The members can take some responsibility and post things that are up to the style that makes TBN so great. I don't see any need to take the time to give reasons why a thread is taken down. That just takes admin time, and raises more points for discussion/rhetoric.

Enough on TBN to keep the normal brouser happy, without the discussions of what goes and what stays. :D
