I have a L1802DT that I am currently building a FEL for.

I intend to run it from the standard engine driven pump that supplies the 3PL.

I am also thinking about adding power steering.

With all this extra stuff to run, I'm wondering if the pump will have the volume to cope.

So, Is it possible to change the factory fitted pump to a bigger unit?

I know this 3 cylinder diesel engine is used on lots of different model tractors, so I'm wondering if a bigger pump could be just bolted in place of the original?

Any advice apperciated.

Cheers

Simple answer is maybe, but unlikely. The output of the pump connects tio a number of valves. Most critical is the relief valve, which limits pressure. If you upsize the pump too much, the flow capacity of the relief valve may be exceeded, resulting in excess pressures. Also to add power steering you need to change the hydraulics to add a priority valve to assure that there is always flow to the steering. All in all not a job for amateurs.

Most Kubota tractors, except for the BX where they use a priority flow valve, have a second pump section stacked to provide dedicated flow for the power steering. Probably easier to find the stacked pump then to try the priority flow valve if the pump is on the small side, or just put on a belt driven PS pump.
