Now it leaks around the clear bowl, tried a small amount of gasket material on threads, still very small leak. Looking at the manual it shows an "O" ring around the top of clear bowl but was nothing there when I carefully unscrewed it. Tractor was parked on a smooth concrete floor when I changed it so nothing dropped off when I took the bowl off. The VERY small leak doesnt seem to hurt anything but I dont like it. :mur::mad:

Pretty sure there's suppose to be an o-ring..double check and make sure it didn't fall somewhere. Regardless I'd buy one and put it on there otherwise you'll keep leaking.

There are actually 2 o rings. One small and another larger one that goes there. I had the same problem and just replaced everything with new (including the plastic bowk) and miraculously everything stopped leaking.

The o-ring may still be on the upper housing. Regardless, you'll want to fix it, as the slow drip will only make a mess.

Yep, I had to reach in and remove the old O ring from the housing, place it correctly and instal it with the bowl.

If its the oring I may have the size. Our L2550 needed it and I bought a minimum number of that size from McMaster Carr for less than a trip to the shop. Whats the dia of your bowl? If same Ill send you one.

Definitely the O-ring. Did the same thing on my first fuel filter service. Pulled the bowl and the O-ring stayed in the housing just long enough for me to turn my back. When I reinstalled the bowl I had a small leak. Looked around and found the O-ring on the ground. Your O-ring probably got pushed up into the housing when you reinstalled the bowl. Remove the bowl, pull the O-ring, seat it on the bowl, and reinstall.

Low and behold, i took off the bowl and upon closer inspection the O ring was mashed up in the housing, I fished it out carefully, reinserted it and so far so good, not even a drop. :cool2:

Thank you all for the comments and SPYDERLK thank you for the offer, hopefully this will fix it.

We love a story with a happy ending. When the guy gets the girl, the cheerleader that everyone thought was an airhead goes on to cure the common cold, and when dripping tractor parts stop dripping.
