Hey Chuck
I thought it was also saying both things in my manual. I didn't change it at 50hrs. I'm over 100 hrs and it looks ok (clear). I'm very careful with my fuel. I used Service Power during the winter to avoid paraffin/gelling. And increase the cetane.
