Traction Challenger MT-255 Operation

I have a question regarding the use of the mid-PTO. I use a forward-mount snow blower that is driven by the mid-PTO. When engaging that PTO, the linkage disengages the 4WD and vice-versa. Is this normal? Is there a single transfer case that drives EITHER the mid-PTO, OR the front wheel drive (4WD)? Thanks for any clarification that anyone can offer.
