Chainsaw has no power and blowing oil from exaust

Well the dealer says no & no.
No compression release made.
Head to thin to drill & tap.

Idea #3 (give or take a little). First I get a new spark plug. Take the old 1 and grind a small groove in the threads. Then see if works & if the engine changes.
Modern spark plugs only seal on the gasket & not the threads.
Only out a little time & 1 old spark plug.

My 372 with compression release is easier to start than my 55 Rancher. The old Rancher has very good compression

It worked!!!
I cut a small channel in all but the last 2 threads of the old plug. Turn out about 3 or 4 flats on the plug and it cranks real easy.
Prime, set choke, set throttle & pull through a few times. Couple of pulls and it is running. Close choke, pull throttle & clear out the engine.
Once warmed up, as normal it starts pretty easy.
Snug up the spark plug & its good to go.

Now to sharpen the chain.
