After use for a while, I can see a potential problem of the rhythm of cutting the limbs and your hands becoming involved with the blade.
when you push it hard in heavy oak, a ground drive PTO (to reverse it through the tractor transmission) is a MUST !!The mottimaster is amazing! I want one...
There was a post here a while back that had a few machines that cut short lengths like this and were self feeding. Used blades that counter rotated from one another and both sets met edge to edge that severed the wood into sections. As soon as you stuck the end in the machine you would go to pick up another while it chopped it into sections.

Geart machines andit was really very eye opening to see a really efficient way to cut up and split wood!!
With all respect, what are those little short pieces of wood used for?
Exactly my thought, on both of your remarks
Short pieces are most probably for automated heaters so the auger doesnt jam. I want longer pieces of about a foot long, to feed my workshop heater. OR i'll feed it with an old fashioned coal shovel because the chunks are about the same size. Maybe its even easier to just shovel...
