on the systems indicator monitor/ hour meter there is to the left of this a little flashing thingy. what is it? i have looked in the owners manual and there is nothing about it

The two triangles pointed at each other are supposed to represent a hourglass and should be flashing whenever the hour meter is racking up time. Some models it counts time anytime the key is on and on others only when the engine is running.
