Cav fuel pump leaking.

Hallo.

My cav fuel pump is leaking from the big screw down at the bottom of the pump.

Is this something I can fix myself, or does the pump need to be sent to a mechanic?

I am unsure if theres some sort of rings I can change so it doesn't leak anymore, and I don't know if there are some springs or something I can break if I take the screw out

Most inj pump repairs requires very knowledgeable technician or IP repair shop.

Yes there is an oring that can be changed.. & yes, there are springs AND SHIMS in the cap..
U should get a KIT w/ the correct size oring.. 7135-110.. CAV/Delphi

Will the spring pop out if I remove the screw? In other words is it easy to change the oring my self?

I am not a mechanic, but I have changed some springs in the filter system of the pump my self before, so I am not totally incapable.

Do you know what the small screw is for? And do I have to unscrew that one before I unscrew the big?

Problem solved.

I took the screw out and changed the oring. The springs inside didn't pop out

I already had a reseal kit from previous repairs I made and there was an oring I could use

Glad u fixed it.. keep the kit close by..
on those pumps, if u stop 1 leak another starts.. unless u do them all at once..
