Yes! Price is per/"hundred weight".

Then deduct the cost of hay feed wages and stay awake nights wondering if will break even at at end of the year. There is no gurantees.

What is the "forecast" for weaned steers at auction in the next few weeks.......my pasture is getting totally overgrown and sure could use a couple of steers to fatten up before introducing the grain...................

Anyway.........what do you think is gonna happen to the market for cattle between now and end of june?????????????

Yesterday's settlement prices for feeder cattle futures were as follows:
May 2011 -- $128/cwt.
August 2011 -- $132.30/cwt.

I just don’t see the prices going down much in the immediate future. Good year for commercial cattlemen. Tough for those running stockers, or feedlots, or anyone who depends on buying cattle and/or feed.

So farm we have 62 babies on the ground and doing well. The hay here in Central Ky is awful. It is running about 1 month late and not good quality. Almost all new seedings and hay field fertilizer got washed away. Hay supply may be short this winter? Ken Sweet
