Catfish

We had some luck fishing over the weekend, we caught 11 Saturday, 13 Sunday, and over 40 on Monday. All were caught on Lake Perry in NE Kansas. The biggest was just over 6 lbs. and the smallest right at a pound. The wife and I fish every weekend (weather permitting) and probably go 20-30 times every summer.

Now there is some dang good eating. Fry them up, I'm hungry. Add some Cajun seasoning while your at it. Hhmmm.

You are obviously not using the right bait or you would be catching bigger catfish. Check out the catfish bait for sale on ebay. Be sure and check the links there for documentation that the bait catches the big ones. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I saw that last summer, it said it was in Wichita, Ks in a flood pond. Really though, for eating I prefer the 1-3 pound catfish. The big ones are tougher to clean, I fillet everything so that there are no bones and cut off anything that isn't white meat. Really makes for good tasting fish. We mix seasoned flour and Williams' spicy hot wing mix 50/50 and deep fry. Makes the best fish I've ever had.

Sorta OT. Did anyone see the blurb on the news last night about the HUGE catfish that was caught. Somewhere on the order of 600 pounds. They had it in a makeshift trough milking it of roe. I missed just where it was caught.
