Cat 1 quick hitch and HP rating

I was looking at quick hitches, and rural king, tractor supply, and harbor freight all say "for tractors no more than 45 HP" fro the cat 1 hitches.

Why?

I have 2 tractors - New Holland TC33d (33hp), and a Kubota L5740 (57hp).

All my attachments are cat1.
- box scaper
- 84" flail mower
- TR3-E arena drag

Would the hitch be a bad idea?

Not sure about the NH but the Kubota is probably a CAT I/II so it has CAT I size for versatility. Real CAT I implements are generally built for 20-50 HP machines so TSC is probably just padding for their warranties etc. And if TSC says don't use it for over 45 HP that probably means less than 30 HP IMHO.

It's most likely a CYA thing. If you run a more powerful tractor and the hitch or implement breaks it's on you. I suspect it has something to do with our sue crazy environment today.

I doubt it would matter much at all unless you're hooked to something ground engaging and pulling hard, like a mold board plow or bigger disk.

They're probably worried you'd pull it apart if you hooked a rock with a plow or middle buster.

What are you going to connect to it? If it's only the 3 attachments you have listed, I wouldn't worry about it.
