Cast iron housing

Can someone tell me what is the smallest JD compact tractor that has a cast iron rear end housing?

John Deere 2 or 3 series.

The John Deere L but they stopped making it in the early 50's I think. For today's models it would be the 3000 D series. The E series still utilize the aluminum cases.

You might want to take a magnet to a JD dealer and do some detective work.

Pretty sure the 3 is aluminum and the 4 is steel but I could be wrong. They might both be aluminum

My 3025d is cast iron.

All of the 4 series is steel, and the 3025d is steel. Of course everything above a 4 series is steel also

The important thing is it is not aluminum.
