Case IH 235 Rear Wheel

Hi all,

I just picked up a Case IH 235 - it was sitting for a few years so took a little love to get it going but it’s running great. My only issue is the rear-left wheel is completely rusted out and I can’t seem to find one that fits this machine. The wheel is 6 lug and seems to be a 100mm hub. Currently had 8.00-18 tires that need to be replaced. I don’t mind changing the wheel/tire size if necessary but I can’t find anything that fits. Anyone have any idea of a wheel that would fit? I went to the Case/IH site to their online parts book for the 235: Wheels, Rear | Case IH | MyCNH US Store It shows that rim to be W6"X18" rim, but also N/A.

Then went to TractorHouse and searched for 235's in salvage. It shows 3, but only 2 that appear to have 18" rear wheel but have turf tires on them. But Case/IH shows the rim width to be 8" wide. You could replace the turf tires with a 9.5X18 R1 tread which seem to be plentiful. Miller Tire shows them at $295 a pop: 9.5-18 BKT Tractor TR-171 Compact Tractor Tire 8 ply

What may be the least expensive if you're capable or have a good weld shop around is to buy a blank rim, remove the center from the rim, and weld a new rim on. What I found was 5.5X18" blank rims, not 6" like Case/IH shows, but very well may be 5.5 wide and they just call it 6". An option you may want to try first is to place a free "want to buy" ad at Tractorhouse: TractorHouse.com | New & Used Farm Equipment For Sale Look top right of page in the menu at the top right of page. You'll need to register and leave contact info. A good description of what you're looking for, and a part number is a big help at times, not so sure in this case. But just in case, the P/N is 1271840C1 for the W6X 18" for the one piece wheel/rim.

There are many small salvage yards connected to tractorhouse that may not show on their site. If any have one, you're normally contacted within 36-48 hrs. I'd try that first, and if no contact from anyone, you can mull over the other options above. Personally, if it were me and no contact, the blank rim option would be my choice being the tightwad I am.

Would you have the dimensions of the bolt pattern .on your rear axles ? I have a set of adapters that went from a Yanmar 6-bolt axle to a common 8 bolt on 6 inch circle wheel pattern
