Case 580ck torque converter

Hi guys I just bought a case 580 ck from my neighbor and it is having torque converter issues, he's had it for about 12 years and it has always done this but I'd like to fix it. After driving roughly a half an hour it won't move anymore. Can I get a new converter or can I get it rebuilt? I'm planning on changing all the fluid and filters first but I doubt that will fix it.

Do a Google search for "Case 580CK won't move." If I remember right, the washable sump screen for them gets plugged, causing the problem. Even more so when it's cold.

Hopefully you got a service manual with it, if not, you might find an oem copy on ebay reasonable. They are 3"-4" thick, and full of "how to do" info, with actual pictures included. I got one for my 480C, and worth every penny. Well worth the investment.
