Case 580B info wanted

Greetings all,
Newbie here looking for any info regarding a Case 580B CK. As near as I can figure this is a 1969 unit judging by the serial number. I was wondering what the pro/con of this machine would be. I have a fair amount of mechanical apptitude and I hope I can do some of my own repairs. I was told the hyd. cyls. were fresh and it ran fine. Tires are good as is overall apperance. I have a pond that I want to open up and an addition I want to add to the house. Also, what would be a fair value for this unit? Any and all replys will be greatly appreciated.

I have a 1975 580B diesel 2 lever amongst my sins but as older machines go it's as good as any....It's not as controlled to operate as an old JCB but i think digs stronger ....What can i say it's an old machine and depends on it's condition..I bought mine with new cylinders on the front ,new hyd pump and a new front bucket 7 years ago for $7500 on a farm auction as one of those unplanned buys and it's been too good to sell..?

Thanks, I'm not looking for finess as much as forgiveness. A newer machine would be nice, but just dosen't fit into my budget. I will probably keep this for a couple of years, till I get my projects done, but who knows. jim

my father ran and owned many backhoes If i remember right the B the only thing to look for is the rear end the crown gear is noted for going hopefully every thing will be good
