Hey guys. I am new to the forum. I have a 3 acre horse farm (all fields) and have 2.6 horses (one is a mini horse, the .1 is a dog that thinks he's a horse). My dad and I renovated the house and the land, with our John Deere 2320 and a mini excavator. Now that we have the horses and a lot more bulk moving then we used to have we are looking at getting a new tractor. The 2320 is a bit too small for the horses even though it is a great tractor. We are looking at a few different tractors. We are looking at the John Deere 2032r, Case 35b, And the Case 40b is the one I'm leaning toward is the 40b. Do any of you haves have any previous experience with it? I have no experience with Case machine, all of mine is with a deere. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks, John Gibson

That Case machine is actually an LS R4041. LS M-Tron is the parent company that contract builds tractors for Case & New Holland (and others in the past) ... and LS also sells their own brand here now in USA.

You will find that the Farmall 40B & the New Holland Boomer 40 are identical with different paint & different headlight design. The loaders have different model names, but are actually the same loader. These are the LS R4041 (LS uses their own loader though). The 50B is the Boomer 50, which is actually the LS R4047. The 35B is the Boomer 35, which is the LS R3039... etc etc etc.

Just FYI ... If you are considering the Case or New Holland and you decide you like them, try to find an LS dealer and buy directly from them. The loader will be a bit stronger (LS uses a stronger loader) AND you will likely save a few thousand bucks, as Case & NH "up-charge" to have their names on the LS tractors. Also, LS adds features from the factory that are standard, like dual hydraulic remote sets, draft control, work light, trailer harness, etc ... that you'll have to pay extra for on the C/NH labeled ones.

Check the LS forum here to learn more about them if you're interested ... LS makes a good tractor.

Good luck!

Hey guys. I am new to the forum. I have a 3 acre horse farm (all fields) and have 2.5 horses (one is a mini horse). My thought is you are comparing a tractor with a solid history of good product and a more unproven record. You will not be disappointed withe JD, will have a reliable support system, and get more of your money back if you ever have to sell.

My vote is 100% John Deere. If you want a larger tractor, you might also consider a 3032E JD.

Is your 100% vote for John Deere for a 100% made John Deere? I can never keep track of which "John Deere" tractors you folks are talking about. Are they the Yanmar made JD's, or the Kukje made JD's, or the JD made JD's ??? And, I'm still not sure you can say that the "reliable support system" will be any better with JD than it will with Case, New Holland, LS, Kubota, etc etc etc. I've been noticing JD dealerships phasing out of compact tractors (because they seem to price themselves out of a very competitive market) and start selling things like lawnmowers, ZTR's, SCUT's, or golf-carts.

JD is good for Green.... spending Green that is! ;)

A 3032E is much smaller than the Case Farmall 40B/NH Boomer 40/LS R4041....by a LOT.

A 3032E weighs 2,200lbs. A Farmall 40B weighs 3,800lbs and has 10" more wheelbase. They aren't remotely similar.

My dealer is listing LS R4041s at $21,600 (they negotiate a little) if you want to compare pricing that you get on a Case Farmall 40B. If you get a quote, just know that the LS comes with the SSQA bucket, dual rear remotes, telescoping 3pt lift arms and stabilizers, rear work light, and 7-pin trailer connector.

As a side note, you can get an LS fixed under warranty at a Case/IH or NH dealer as long as LS approves of the repair.

Here's the Craigslist ad, if you're interested:

I didnt say they were similar. An LS will never be a John Deere - ever. If you go pound for pound a Belarus is even cheaper. I was simply looking at the application and providing a solution. An LS is not even close to a robust design like a John Deere.

But then we have had this argument over and over. There are those who kind of understand what engineering is and those that don't.

Anyone with common sense will see an LS is a second tier brand.

Last I understood warranty work is not a profitable proposition. Likely you should not be making promises on CaseIHs behallf

There was no argument, but it looks like you're trying to start one.

He asked about the Case Farmall 40B. You said " If you want a larger tractor, you might also consider a 3032E JD."

The 3032E is a smaller tractor, not a larger tractor....makes no sense at all.

This has nothing to do with engineering, an area where you've repeatedly shown you can't grasp the simplest concepts.

The OP has already said he didn't like the price on Deere.

My guess is you've never even seen an LS, or NH Boomer 40, or Case Farmall B in person, but that isn't what the thread is about. The OP is interested in a machine made by LS MTron, sorry you have heartburn with that, but it's his call.
