Case 3450 Baler switch.

Hello, I was wondering anybody still use this baler. Picked one up cheap yesterday. In good shape but I need a door switch alarm and have found it a t messicks but $120 sounds a little steep. Any body got any ideas? I had seen somewhere that someone used a different switch Maybe some type of backup switch to replace this with? Also is the door switch what tells you if the bale is full or not? cannot find another switch or sensor anywhere on it but the box has an alarm for it.

Also a new idea 484 has the same part but haven't found any of them parts at all. These were built in several different names in the 90's same baler. just looking for ideas..

I'm not familiar with the Case 3450, but I can tell you that the door switch on a New Holland is there to tell you that the door is securely latched. Should it become unlatched, the alarm will go off. It has nothing to do with a full bale. I would assume it's the same on a Case. The New Holland switch is some sort of proximity sensor. It can sense when a heavy metal object is near, in this case the steel hook used for the latch.

I'm not much help on exactly what that switch does. However, you might look into after market parts. A lot of times if you have an independent tractor/ag repairman he will have a line on after market parts and he can get it for you. Another idea is Grainger. There is a big place in kansas city that has lots and lots of stuff including switches and electrical supply. You maybe able to call them, tell them what you have, and a part number. They maybe able to cross reference it and get you going. If they can help you out, they would ship right to you doorstep utilizing the little brown ups truck. The phone number is:
