Case 310G Dozer

/ Case 310G Dozer #41
Hope someone can give me a hand with info and advice. I have operated and worked on heavy equipment for a large part of my life in oil related business in western PA. Mostly operated and worked on cats from 9U 1955 hand clutch jobs up to D6B, C's and high tracks. I recently purchased my own first dozer. I have other equipment by Kubota: L2350 w/woods hoe and loader,RTV 900,and latest a BX1850. This new little marvel is a Case 310G, Diesel, with a 4 way blade with a nice brush guard. New hydralics, 95% on tracks & undercarrage, new radiator, new hydro pump, and a nice rops cage. Dozer has been completely steamed and repainted, as well as new decals. Problem: The fellow who owned it and fixed it up took the rear cone bearing out of the main shaft in the tranny. They pulled to main shaft and put in a rod to hold everything in place. I have looked it over really well and can see no damage other than one nick on the pinion. All else looks fine. Can I pull these gears in order and then push load the dozer on a trailer without doing any damage? I would really like to get it back to my shop to do the repair work. Also, can I put new bearings and set the shaft up prior to install, or does it have to go in piece meal? I have ordered a shop and operator's manuel. If any one can advise me I would really appreciate it. I never got into tranny's much, but did do most all else, except get inside engines. Thanks for any help. Also can anyone tell me what it weighs? I believe it is a '67 or '68 according to the serial number
