\"Carry All\" How Do You Use Yours

Hi All,

I am thinking of buying a carry all for my BX2200. I know I can carry stuff with it and was going to use it to collect all the brush from trimming the trees. But what other uses do you have for your unit?? I want to get as much use with it before spending a $115.00, also so I can answer the CFO( Wife) questions for the $$$ request.

Thanks

Tom

Re: \"Carry All\" How Do You Use Yours

Since I don't have a FEL (yet), I use it to carry bags of grain, hay, sand, cement, stones, etc. Once the FEL arrives, I don't know how much I'll use it.

I was thinking of adding wheels to make it a wheeled platform. That way I could use it as a dolly around the barn and basement.

I have been toying with the idea to use is as a "not so gray" water holding bin. My wife throws alot of water away from the horses watering buckets. I was figuring I could mount a water tank onto the carry all and have her pour that water that is now wasted into the tank. I could then use it to water spots in the paddock.

Re: \"Carry All\" How Do You Use Yours

I've used mine to carry bags of marble rock chips into the back for a garden. Used it to tote firewood to the house. Will use ti to carry Quickrete in the back when I get ready to build a bigger building for my toys.....err I meant tools and tractor. The carry all I bought was $69 at TSC. I cut pieces of treated 2X6 to make a bottom and back for it so the firewood and bags of marble chips will stack on it.

Re:

I used mine as a homemade ballast box when the only other heavy implement i had was my mower, and it was sometimes tough working in tight spots w/the large mower on the back. I put a plywood platform on it, attched a 40 gal drum to the back and filled it w/anything heavy i had at the time. I too have used it to truck water around to plantings/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Check out the picture.

Re: \"Carry All\" How Do You Use Yours

I use mine quite a lot when I have the FEL off especially.
I use it to haul trash to the road for pickup, a water tank to water some remote trees, firewood and limbs, as a seat and a work bench, I even load up my tiller (walk behind) to head out to the garden that is almost 1/8 mile from my shop.
It really is a great back saving tool.
Good luck with the CFO

Re: \"Carry All\" How Do You Use Yours

I see you have a Sears tiller, How do you like it and did you buy it instead of a 3pt tiller, or did you already own the tiller prior to the Kubota.

I have been debating a 3pt tiller for my Kubota B7500 to take advantage of the width or buy a rear tinner like your sears to take advantage of less cost and manueverability.

Re:

We have a small nursery and cut flower business and use the carry-all to haul container-grown trees; we also drive right down the rows and harvest the flowers, dropping them right into the buckets on the back of the carry-all....sure saves a lot of back pain./w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

dmp,
I had the tiller before the Kubota, I wish I had a 3ph tiller but not sure I can justify it with a near new 19" rear tine in the garage. To answer your question about the tiller I have is that I have been very happy with it, I don't think all tillers have dual rotating tines and that seems to make a lot of differance especially if you try to till up some sod. It always starts on first pull and is easy to handle.
Cost wise this tiller was about $800.00, If I was buying one today I would have gone with a 3 point just because I could.
Hope this helps.

Re: \"Carry All\" How Do You Use Yours

I use mine to move pallets of assorted items. By attaching plywood to the top a a pallet I put a compressor and related tools on one or sprayer and tree trimming tools on another. The carry all makes it easy to drop one pallet and pick up another. Great accessory!

Re: \"Carry All\" How Do You Use Yours

Tom - My dad has one for his 641 (36hp) Ford. He uses it more than any other implement. Firewood, hay, trash bins, brush, raised work platform, transfer of heavy stuff into pickup, etc. If he had a FEL many of these task could be completed without it.

Also, based on the pictures than many other have posted, he has installed a much wider deck than most (over 6 ft, which is the width of the 641).

Re:

Since I have an FEL which also has a set of 5' forks, I went the other way to carry comparatively light bulk material like hay bales, loose hay and brush. I have an "L" shaped rack that has a load area of 8' wide and 8' long from the back of the forks. The back of the rack extends 5' straight up.

The forks fit through pockets on the bottom of the rack and a load strap is used to cinch the rack to the guard on top of the fork frame so the rack stays put when you dump the load. With the quick interchange between forks (with or without rack) and bucket, I reserve the 3 pt hitch for something that requires the pto.

Re:

Dug a hole for my new Sunsetter flagpole today with the PHD. Used the carry all to haul everything I needed.......the Quickrete, shovel, manual PHD to clean out the hole, Spud bar, tub to mix in, sand, gravel, level, 5 gal pail of water. This pic is after the sleeve had been set.

Re: \"Carry All\" How Do You Use Yours

I have an MTD chipper, but it has those cheesy little plastic wheels on it. I found it frustrating trying to haul it through the woods. I mounted it on two 2 x 8's and stuck it on my carry-all. Now it goes anywhere my tractor does.

Where can I order a Carry All? That looks like a very useful attachment.

Thanks

Re: \"Carry All\" How Do You Use Yours

TSC has King Kutter ones for $70. If you have any welding ability, it's a pretty simple design.

Re:

Used the carry-all to tote a double french steel patio doors around the back of the house this weekend. My wife could just barely help me get it on the carry-all, no way she could have helped me carry it all the way around back. Strapped it on standing stright up, took it out back, slid it over to the hole and tilted it in. Carry-all saved our backs.
