Hello,

I have my Tractor Supply Carry All, painted JD green, ready to be built on but am having trouble with the way to build it. I've seen Carry Alls built with 5/4 pressure treated deck boards, 2" pressure treated boards, and 2" pine/spruce boards. I could do any one of these builds, but . . . has anyone built a Carry All using 3/4" plywood screwed to a 2x4 or 2x6 base board bolted to the horizontal and vertical forks?

Painting it all JD green would be a lot easier and wouldn't weigh as much as the other ones built from boards. I'm not anticipating really heavy loads to move around.

Any thoughts?

What are you planning to use it for?

I picked up a rolling plastic waterproof toolbox with a locking lid. It holds many of my two stroke tool accessories and a few other things. I'll attach it some how that it can be removed easily for storage, leaving the Carry All for other uses. I'll also add some PVC pipe for longer handled tools and maybe make up a wire cage of some kind from fence panels to hold sprayers and gas cans, etc.

You should build it the way you want and not worry about it. No matter what you use there will be a way to bust it and there will be people who don't like it but the only one that matters is you. I see nothing wrong with your 3/4 plywood deck if that is what you want. You might consider doubling up or reinforcing the edges. That seems the most vulnerable part.
