It looks like a combine header trailer used to transport the headers off a combine, hard to drive a 16 to over 30 foot wide combine down the road so you remove the header and trailer it length wise to the next field to work.

Its a Twinstar G2 7 bar hay rake. It is sometimes called a combiner as it is 2 7 bar hydraulic powered rakes combining swaths from each side into a large windrow in the center. Its possible the reporter picked up "combine" because somebody mentioned "combiner" and not being familiar with ag terminology, knew only of a combine and used the term. Who ever said "large piece of farm equipment" is right. Construction equipment, its a bulldozer for anything from a wheel loader to hydraulic excavator. If it is a vibratory compactor they always say "steamroller" even though the last steam roller was built around 1900.
