Re: Can\'t Believe the Difference!

OK, OK I was going to say

<font color="blue">"The improved cold pumpability and lighter cold viscosity <font color="red"> of synthetics </font> results in faster crank speeds, which lead to quicker cold starts followed by markedly smoother cold idle. I have observed this time and again". </font>

But I thought it would look a little clunky. Bad call, I know Mike is an Amsoil man, I finally switched over on his advice. If the previous poster had been talking about Amsoil, it obviously would have worked much better. I guess they can't all be winners - back to the drawing board. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I can tell you what weighs more... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Although I haven't done a taste test (reference to the diesel lubricity thread), actual notable performance has sold me on full synthetic lubricants. About a year ago I did a comparison between Royal Purple, Red Line and Amsoil and had samples from each analyzed. All outperformed conventional oil by a considerable margin, and one did perform better than the other two.

I posted a request for information about this subject in the Feedback Forum and was politely informed by two moderators via PM that there would be no discussion of the topic and it was removed. I was told that if I wanted further information I needed to contact Muhammad.

Top secret indeed. I could say more, but then I'd have to kill myself. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks Robison,
Your observation coincides with mine.

On a serious note, absolutely ditto on any good synthetic. I happen to like Amsoil, Redline and Royal Purple, in no particular order. I'm sure Mobil 1 synthetic will also outperform ANY dino oil on just about any criterion you can come up with, winter, summer, spring or fall. Are synthetics worth the extra cost? You decide.
