Yes, I'm afraid he is, along with Junkman, Bob Skurka and who knows who else. Not sure what is transgression was, but I like it here so I'm not going to even ask. I do miss his input though, I always respected his opinions, which always seemed to have the "ring of truth" to them.

As for GSXR1100, it was fairly recently I think, maybe the last couple of months. Out of curiosity I looked at the last page or two of his posts to see if I could detect the fateful moment that the "powers that be" decided to give him the boot, but I couldn't find any "smoking gun". (Or perhaps the gun was lubricated with Amsoil, which has superior high-temperature characteristics). /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Anyway, it's none of my beeswax why he and Junkman are gone, but gone they are. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

We use Mobil 1 libricants in high end european cars. Indeed there is often a dramatic difference in starting and idling on diesels. The Mercedes and VW diesels are a good example of this.
Bear in mind that synthetic oils differ in ratings. Only certain Mobil 1 weights are spec'd for Mercedes, others for Porsche, etc. They are not all interchangable.
The improved cold pumpability and lighter cold viscosity results in faster crank speeds, which lead to quicker cold starts followed by markedly smoother cold idle. I have obseverved this time and again.
