Im thinking about adding a canopy to my ls4041.. did some checking and prices come in about $500+.. im thinking it cant be that much to build in material.. anyone build a canopy for there tractor, if so can i get materials from a local big box store? im not the most mechanically inclined person but hopefully it shouldnt be that hard

appreciate the advice.. thanks!

The frame for the canopy will require design and fabrication and in turn will make or break the suitability of the canopy. Virtually all canopys come with this part and a molded plastic or fiberglas top and are kinda durable. Putting on a new home made top to replace a destroyed original is in itself some challenge to do well ... but starting from scratch for the whole thing is going to cost lots of time to get a suitable setup. Take a look at Golf Cart tops for the best "head start" I know of.

Good luck.

I bought the canopy on my R4047 when I got the tractor. It was around 400. I just made a canopy out of an old golf cart top for a buddy. Had less than 75 in it with a top recovered off the side of the road.

I removed the top of the roll bar and bolted by canopy in place there. In Texas I need shade, not one waaaaay up in the air.
