Cannot got to another page in a thread

When following a thread, whether I select page 2 or "last page" the displayed thread simply returns to the first page again. Is anyone else experiencing this? I first noticed it over the weekend.

More info: sometimes by using Hybrid View I can get a thread to change pages - but not always. When it does change, it begins numbering the posts again starting from #1 on that page, even though that particular post may be #xxx in a series.

OK...I switched back to linear thread mode and that seems to fix the problem. Maybe I just don't understand how the Hybrid mode works. Can anyone explain?
