Can you drive a tractor on three wheels?

On my pasture mower Massey 245 I had a flat (twice, once each front wheel) while I had my larger brushhog on and was mowing. I raised the mower to take most of the weight off the front wheels and reverse drove my way back to the barn. I had just enough air in the tires to keep them on the rim. Had both fixed, no damage to the tires.

I'd say it's possible. Three-wheeled_tractor,_front_view.jpg

I snapped a spindle on the old JD 1520 while toting a large rock in the FEL up the driveway and didn't want to leave it blocking the way. It had a previous crack and I'd finished off the part. I just lowered/leveled the bucket as though I were back-dragging and backed it around to a spot where I did the repair/replace later.

Every instance is a tad different; location, surface, slope, season, tire or steering component, etc. Lots of tricks, and it helps to remember a few of them.

i mean the one under the auger- its time for me to replace it- i'll try to take some picsand share any learning

mine occasionally leaves a bit of a film but it seems to depend on the type of snow/speed of the tractor and tilt of the blower. I don't have the rear blade but have been thinking about the rear wheels.

I looked at mine closely. It's definitely tapered to the point of needing to be replaced. It's 3/8" by 2-1/2"; It's worn half that thickness off the front edge. So the options are:
1. Replace it with mild steel ($100, not counting any tariff given that it's from Canada).
2. Replace it with a Hardox 450 steel ($336, not counting the tariff); Add bolts $10.
3. I have a piece of 1/2" x 2-1/2" 304 stainless steel I could use to make my own. Price is just the labor to make it.
Not sure what to do. Don't really know how fast the regular steel ones wear as I didn't look at mine closely when I bought the unit (used).

Run a chain from the loader to the axle on the side that is flat (or missing or whatever), raise the loader until that wheel isn't dragging and voila you're driving on one wheel. I wouldn't do this forever but it works.
