Can my tractor haul a large rotary cutter?

Im enjoying the 租iscussion on TLB vs traditional tractors. Not sure why people think they are any different.

Not what I'll call a traditional tractor but when it comes to John Deere there is a differences between a JD 110 and a JD 110TLB.
The JD 110 is a lawn tractor and a JD 110 TLB is more of an industrial tractor.

Great pics of both machines!!!! When searching for a backhoe I looked at several JD110TLBs on CL. Man,,,, those things bring good money!!!!! Obviously highly respected and useful!!!!

There's a member on here that has a "collection" of older JD lawn/garden equipment It's a pleasure to see those old tractors!!!!

JD has a bad habit of using the same number for many different tractors.

Hey yall , looking for some wisdoms from the more experienced.

I own a kubota l39 TLB, 30.5 PTO HP. I am trying to find a bush hog that can cut thick brush. Probably 1.5? no bigger than 2?
I have found some medium duty bush hogs that meet all my needs but state a min PTO HP of 30.

Can I haul these? Can I turn them? I prefer to be conservative and definitely dont want to damage my tractor.
Any advise?

Thanks

The 田onventional wisdom is you need 5 hp per foot of width. I violate that rule every time I run my hog. My machine is like 18 hp at the pto.

I just can稚 cut thicker stuff as fast as others or really thick stuff at all.

That said I have used my light duty hog to munch up the occasional 1.5 to 2 inch sapling. I go dead slow. I wouldn稚 want to do a lot of that.

Mostly use mine for horse pasture. However waist high weeds I can take a full width pass and go as fast as I care to go.

A Howse 500 is an economy cutter. A 285 Bush Hog is a medium duty cutter. Not the same class cutter.

Yes I am aware of this, thank you.
The Howse is rated for 1.5” and the BH is 2.5”
Both would work for what Im doing, but of course the BH is stronger.

I've been looking at the 6ft brush cutter from Everything Attachments.
That might be the way to go.
Near the end of the video (14:50) he cuts down some very large trees!

That cutter is definitely doing some work. Im looking more at 4’ and 5’ cutters since my work will be done mostly in the woods and I dont mind the smaller cutting area. My main focus is the cutting Capacity and the risk for overworking my tractor.
