I'm in the process of mounting my JD 47" front mount snowblower to my new 2520. The snowblower came off of my old JD 4100.

I purchased a new driveshaft from JD to mate my 2520 with the snowblower which fits perfectly. However, my existing hydraulic hoses from my snowblower are too short to reach the hose connections on the 2520 tractor which are considerably further back than on my old 4100.

Is there any reason I can't just have short hydraulic hose extensions with male fittings on each end made in the lengths I need for each of the four hoses to fit my 2520? I would then just use a 1/4" coupler to connect them.

Thanks for any help.

I'd avoid additional coupler sets (and possible leaks) and just get longer hose sets. TSC has pre-made hose lengths and they are available on line from various hose suppliers or you can go to your local Parker Hannifin dealer and have them made up or a tractor dealer who has a Parker crimp machine.

The inherent restriction of multiple couplers will reduce the flow. Much better to have longer hose sets made up. Not that expensive anyway.

Extending the hoses is fine, very little flow here anyway.

That's what I was thinking since the only thing the hydraulics are doing is moving the chute back and forth and raising and lowering the snowblower.

Cheaper too to extend them!

When I first bought my q-hitch the hoses were just extended by the dealer. The hitch come with hoses but each tractor has different length extensions that are put on.

When I purchased the 47" snowblower for my 2520, the mounting kit (from Deere) included hoses for the 4100 etc. and extensions for the 2520. This is the factory setup.

Thanks everyone. It looks like I need to visit my JD dealer for some extensions.
