I have a JD 4200 and am wondering if a 4 IN 1 bucket is to big for it. My neighbor has a Kabota with one and I love it. I actually borrow his tractor just for the bucket. I know that my tractor has more lifting power than his because I pick up things that his tractor won't touch. I can actually lift the back tires off the ground on my tractor lifting something with the bucket. His tractor is physically bigger than mine though. So anyway would a bucket like that be to much for my JD? If I can get one......where would be the best place to get it from? I have an extra hydraulic port that was used for the belly mower that I took off.

Do you have the 420 or 430 loader? The 4n1'a will weigh easily twice+ what your bucket weighs now, so there will be a marked reduction in lift capacity while it's on. Generally they cost over $2k. Your JD dealer can get one from Frontier, or you could shop for a used on if you can weld the hooks and pins on the rear for the QA.

Have you considered a small grapple? It would weight less and cost less to!

That is NOT something to be proud of, sounds to me like you need more rear ballast. you are risking costly damage to your machine if you are under-ballasted.

You can put a 4/1 bucket on even the smallest of tractors. I like to check out "everything attachments" on the internet. The guy has very good prices and free shipping up to 1000 miles.

Check him out. I just paid $2200 for a 72" Kubota 4/1 bucket. It's a pretty hd unit at 850#.

Make sure you look at the weight of the bucket. That's how you tell how heavy duty it's built.
