Can hydraulic shuttle be added to a geared tractor?

Most people could not undertake a project like that and I'm sure no dealer would entertain it.

I have several tractors with dry clutches, including loader... ANY tractor using up clutches is a OPERATOR problem, NOT a clutch/tractor problem!

I have not changed one clutch or even had a clutch problem, not one, including loader tractors with dry clutches!

I have a neighbor who goes through clutches with his loader tractor at the rate of more than one a year, he even bragged to me how fast he can change his out! I took 55 big bales of hay to him, and seeing him unload the bales, told me exactly why HE has clutch problems!!

You are gifted, lots of people are not.

Apparently so, if folks can't make a dry clutch last for quite a long time.

It sure isn't rocket science though...

OP is talking about the operator not having the physical ability to move the pedal, not a lot of whatever else is being discussed and we don't know if the person has the financial resources to replace the machine.

Then there is this idea:
you could probably add a hydraulic clutch cheaply though, you can get one from an auto salvage yard, and make brackets to make it fit. it's 2 hydraulic cylinders, one for the foot pedal, and one for the clutch.. no pump needed, btw..
Companies retrofit cars and trucks all the time for people with mobility issues. Makes me wonder if they could retrofit a tractor. Medical insurance company might even have some ideas.

Biggest thing that I have seen that people do that they should not, is keeping their foot on the clutch pedal. Some people ride around with their foot on it which can constantly slip the clutch. That and using too high of a gear under load.

^^^ this if he can not afford a new machine. A little custom work with a small cylinder and it could be a very workable system.

Yeah but most of the respondents would rather stroke their egos and deflect the topic than make a worthwhile contribution.

I think Farmer495 is onto a good solution. The Trima clutch rings a bell. There was a farmer who had a major accident (off farm) and couldn't use a regular clutch and used a Trima aftermarket clutch on his tractor. It is an off the shelf aftermarket product and would be much more acceptable from an insuance company point of view, than a custom job.

I have some experience with JD tractors that utilize a master & slave cylinder for clutch operation & I would advise for jccummins to trade for a different tractor rather than convert current tractor to slave/master cyl clutch operation. I don't remember JD tractors with cylinder operated clutches having easy to operate clutch pedals. As we all know opinions are similar to navels as everybody has ONE!!!!

One possibility would be to add a hand lever to the clutch pedal.
I have heard of this being done, I haven't seen once other then on some of the older tractors.
