Can anyone name this moth?

Saw this moth on our deck the other day.
Never saw one like it around here (Southern NJ) before.

Body is about 1.5 inches long and almost a half inch in diameter
at the widest part. Wing span about 2.5 inches

Looks fairly large.

We nick-named them "Humming bugs" because they are similar to a hummingbird. Pretty neat.

One summer several years back one would come to a certain flower we had in a bed. Lost the flowers in a move and haven't seen a moth like that since. My wife has looked for those kind of flowers since and found some and got seeds just this past Friday. I hope that brings those moths back. Now I can tell her what the name of it was: Fred.
