Arly, sorry for the dumb question, but is there any dangerous wildlife that typically inhabits the area of your camp, like snakes, bears, mountain lions, etc.? Have you seen any or expect to?

We do have wolves, bears, moose, mountain lions but we have no poisonous snakes in the UP. Nothing to worry about in our experience.

As stated in an earlier post, the owner said its solid rock beneath the camp so they never attempted a well. We will try to test this at a later time but to date, everything they had told us has been accurate. They used the camp for 25+ years.

Packing today and will head to camp Saturday morning with 6x6, brushing tools, camp gear and good food to grill.. 😀
Wonder if my cheap Chinese pile driver can punch thru your rock with a well point? Problaby not though, recently somewhat struggled getting old road sign posts to frost level 50+ inches around me, in very rocky ground.

We are packing for Camp Covington now but I got the atv loaded and brushing tools done yesterday. The high there for today is 70 and a low of 42 tonight. Sunday's high is 75. Pretty exciting for us! There is just 2 bars out there and seems I can't be posting until home

Just got home and got lots done. Fine, fine weekend with fabulous weather. Was in the lower 40's overnight and the wood stove did work :) skies as clear as glass. 75 today with humidity around 25.

Looks like we might be closing on Friday this week. We are speaking with the onwer as to when he'll be up so he can get there personal things out. Lots and lots of personal items still there. We found a pile of camp photos that appear to go back 25 years.

It would be nice if the old timer could make one last visit once you get the road in domesticated a bit.

Unless you want those things I'd make sure that the previous owner removes everything before closing. I speak from experience that moving a bunch of junk out of a new to you property is a lot of work and I wasn't doing it via a mile long driveway in poor condition.

I stand corrected.
lol no you're entirely correct
I was jokingly suggesting that this would be the solution to having to move a ton of junk out of that road but it's not something he's got or needs long-term!

We moved into our current house in early August and didn't insist that the previous owners remove all the stuff in the yard. Soccer goals, dilapidated trampoline, lots of random cinder blocks, old half rotted 6x6 and 8x8 lumber, etc. None of it seemed like a big deal but as a whole it was a pain in the butt. I had to disassemble and load it into a trailer and haul it 1/2 hour away to a landfill at $50/load, unload it, then plug the inevitable tire punctures that come with driving into the landfill. I still haven't finished. Moving is enough work by itself without adding trash removal to the todo list. I should have made it a condition of closing.
