Californias biggest polution problem is stupidity.

A smart remark... Facts smarty pants?

We definitely have factors that other area's of the US, and elsewhere, don't have. For one, 5 bazzilion people live in a few valleys where pollution just sits. If there was not so much population concentration, some of the problems would not exist.

I would agree our lawmakers are not that great. Some of us in NorCal have to live with goofy Socal laws, cause we're all in the same state. And Berzerkly laws...

Given the recent events in Chicago and Illinois with Governors and other politicians, I think you statement may be a bit off the mark; seems like there are goofballs no matter where you go.

Maybe there are even a few goofballs in your local politicians too...

Making a one liner like that, and accusing a whole state is, well, rather rude!

**I didn't mean it to come off that way about the people in Ca themselves - SORRY

If California's pollution is50% coming in from over seas and 40% is being generated inside California from their day to day living, and 10% is coming in from the eastern states, that might not be the accurate numbers but just a number for a reference. If their goal is to cut down on pollution and they are wanting to make laws to cut down on pollution then wouldn't it be wise to look at all the polluters instead of just your citizens if you wanted a fair solution. If the factories overseas are running their factories without any pollution controls while over the years the USA factories have been forced to cut their pollution by 50% and there is a push for them to cut even more such that it is more cost effective to produce the products over seas. They have already cut down pollution by 50% and they are trying to cut the pollution even more. If they kept the pollution rates the way they are now at the USA factories stopped the imports coming in from those countries where they practice no pollution controls and ramped up the factories to 100% then you would be in effect cutting the pollution in California by between 20 to 30% and they would be a cost savings by doing that. The arguments against doing that is that the foreign factories produce products cheaper than they do in USA, but lets look at that. If a factory in the USA is running at 60 to 70% or 100% the cost of the equipment is the same.If they are running their equipment at 70% or at 100% the cost of the equipment is the same but because when only running the equipment at 70% the 30% of the time that the equipment is setting idle the equipment cost of that 30% is added on to the price of the goods that are being produced at 70%. So you are paying the equipment cost whether you are running at 70% or at 100%. Have you noticed that when you turn a light bulb on it will blow 99.9% of the time when you first turn it on rather than while it has been burning for a while, machinery is the same way so running the equipment at 100% will give you less down time because of mechanical failure. That will cut the cost of producing a product in maintenance costs. If you are working your employees three weeks out of four and paying them unemployment the fourth week that fourth week is adding to the labor costs of the labor for the other three weeks that they are working where if you work them that fourth week that fourth week is only adding to your costs the difference between the unemployment and what they would make if they were actually working full time. Now if the company is paying health care for it,s workers then that cost is the same probably if they work three weeks out of four or if they work all four weeks. We need to get away from the thinking if you want one we will build it and get back to mass producing . We can't regulate pollution standards in other countries but we can in our country the United States of America that is where my loyalty is not the ONE WORLD ORDER. If I come up with a brilliant idea or you come up with a brilliant idea I want to share it with Loyal United State Citizens instead of the One world Order crowd that if you told them about the idea they would say let me see it we can share it with China and they can mass produce it a lot cheaper than we can.

It does seem to go from bad to worse...

This evening it was announced that parts of CA did not attain the air quality standards for the regions and a redoubling of the effort to control airborne particulates is necessary.

Diesel powered equipment is listed as the biggest problem followed by home fireplaces and industry. Everything with a diesel motor is targeted... water pumps, tractors, generators and even ships coming into port.

It's easy to say "Only in California" but, the reality is what ever happens here eventually goes nationwide.

While California does seem to enjoy being the guinea pig of trying silly ideas out on it's people with wacky laws, I'm not so sure that the rest of the country does follow along. That link that I posting in my previous post makes a good point in comparing the rest of the country going in one direction with social welfare, while California is taking it to the extreme.

I'll never forget a story in the news one time of Texas rounding up there homeless and street people, paying for a bus ticket for California. They were also given $100 in cash and instructions on how to get on welfare there. Since California gives out more money then Texas in welfare, they left in droves.

What really cracks me up is that, in the middle of all this, we see the Governator on 60 Minutes last weekend driving around in his HUMMER (not the little one, but the FULL-SIZED one that HE almost single handedly made into a wasteful, polluting status symbol...) and bragging about it. Just because he's running it on used McDonald's lube or whatever.

But, he's the first one to tell the rest of us that we can't have one.

This goes to illustrate the duplicity in the thinking of the people who are making the rules for us to live by. See also the headlines about Seattle not using salt on the roads because it pollutes the ocean, while encouraging people to have to use SUV's to get around the city on the uncleared roads.

WE really need to take our country back.
