Calcium Leak

I have a very slight leak in one of my rear tires ...... constant wettness at the valve stem and a very slight seepage at the bead. It has been like this for months and I have never needed to add pressure.
Do I need to repair this .... will it dmage the tire over time.
Please excuse the question ... I am a bit new to this

It needs to be fixed soon or the calcium chloride will rot the rim. Any tire shop that deals with ag tires can do the repair. Its best to just bring the tractor in as they can pump the CCL out, swap the tube, and re-pump it back in without removing the wheel from the machine. If thats not possible and you have to take the wheel off yourself, be very careful because that filled wheel is plenty heavy. Best to have a pro shop come out to you place than to try and muscle a loaded tractor tire, unless you have another loader or backhoe handy. Still dangerous to do.

Calcium works well for added weight and has been used for decades on farms, but it is corrosive and a good seal is imperative. If flats become a problem for you than there are other products that also work, even plain water if you don't live in a freezing climate.
