Cabs for winter use

Thanks Moss,

I am an entrepreneur. The thought did cross my mind. It would have to be a lot more aerodynamic than that. Kind of ugly to me, but as long as it keeps me out of the elements. On the other hand I would feel like I was taking advantage of my PT friends here if I were to try and sell one. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

No one suggested you make a profit. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yeah, there probably would be a very limited market and not worth the cost of start up, but if someone was already in the fiberglass business, they might be able to sell a couple.

A profit?? of course not wouldn't think of it. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

If I were to ever venture into making cabs, it would be the soft canvas style.

Great job and I love your web site.
I have talked with a number of people this past year who expressed an interest in a cap for the PowerTrac 400 series. I hope they are still online and look at your site.
Thanks Again
PJ

Thanks pajoube,

Even though my Web Sites needs tweaking for sure, it is the best way to show friends and family that live out of state what I do with my spare time.

I love my PT, and of course reading this forum and seeing all the fun you guys were having sold me on getting one. So thanks to all of you. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hey Bill,

you still out there? Hows that FOPS coming along? Can't wait to see some pictures. The weather starts to turn cold here after today. Sounded like the wind was going to blow over a tree last night.

The way we are positioned here between the mountains its like setting in a big wind tunnel. Every year the same thing. Sure did get rid of left over leaves from our big leave roundup last weekend. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi Barry,
I have mocked up two designs in cardboard. The first was the angle iron FOPS. I thought it was OK but couldn't think of a good way to make it easily convert from cab to no-cab. Also knowing I want a ROPS eventually I decided to mockup a seperate cab (much like yours). Then I started thinking that I am limited on storage space for big items (no pole buildings, or big sheds) and thought 9 out of 12 months I'd have to store that somewhere... Now I am leaning towards a modified soft cab that will be easier to store.

Here is what I am thinking of starting out with: $175 Craftsman Windbreak

Probably won't be compatible with the PT ROPS I get down the road but storing the ROPS during the Winter vs storing the hard cab during the rest of the year I think will be the right decision for me.

By the way, nice site. I've been meaning to do the same all summer but just haven't gotten there yet.

Bill,

Hey, what ever works for you thats what counts. Looks like it will do the job just fine, less fuss and bother. I would hold out for that ROPS too. I like the feel of having it there when I go off camber. Gives me something to grab onto.

As for storing my cab I will have to put mine out behind my shed until I can expand it. Should be fun trying to keep the spiders out of it until then. Would be nice to see some more Web Sites showing people and their PT projects. Maybe we can get something started here. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Very nice,

gallery pictures J.J. For people that don't have their own Server space that would be the way to go.
