Got my BX2350 this past Spring & ordered front snowblower and a Curtis cab as part of the package. Cabs had not been produced to fit this new model yet at that time, so I was supposed to give the dealer a call in the fall for them to pick-up and install blower and cab. Now they're telling me that Curtis won't have any cabs for this model until mid-December! (I'm looking out at 6 inches of snow in my yard  ). Anyone else run into this problem or am I getting hosed?

You could give Curtis a call at 1-800-343-7676 and ask them directly if you think the dealer is giving you the run around.

You'll love the cab, BTW!:D

Curtis is a difficult company to get to do anything on a timely basis. They run a constant back log of orders for cabs and you might not get yours till the next season. If your dealer has already ordered the cab, then you are on the waiting list. If he hasn't ordered the cab, then you have no idea as to how long it will take. I checked with them one morning and they said the cabs were in stock. When my dealer called in the afternoon, they said that there were no cabs available for 3 months. I then went to another dealer and asked if he had any luck with getting a faster delivery, and he told me the truth. They make a run to fill the orders that they have and then they ship them. Once they get another backlog of orders, they then produce them and ship those. They just don't want to keep any stock in inventory if possible. Now that the BX24 is out, there will be an even longer delay in getting a cab for the 1st and 2nd design (BX22/23 style) tractors. Glad that I got mine when I did. Dusty

With no cab you learn real fast NOT to blow snow into the WIND.

Its just that mother nature tends to change direction without giving you notice :) actually I used to use my snow mobil helmet which worked very good I might add - then I finally got a cab

Wow. Called Curtis directly. They're having "production issues". No cabs until end of December. Guess I'll try the snowmobile helmet trick and a pair of coveralls. Anybody been able to get a Sims cab for the BX2350?

The helmet solves only PART of the problem.... the snow that lands in the seat that turns into water is a real pain in the a##. Buy some rain gear with farmer John pants. Your butt will be cold but not wet.:D

They're always having production issues. It is called, just in time sales, and no back up inventory in the warehouse. They have no idea what are going to be the "hot" selling cabs from year to year, and they manufacture on a "as ordered" basis. When the season heats up, (gets cold and snowy) they shift production to the snow plows, which are bigger seller than cabs. They are a relatively small company with a very diverse product line, so the bigger ticket items will always take preference. Dusty

GRA123,

I just replied to you in another thread that you dug up that had been inactive for over 25 months. It also was about cabs for small tractors. This thread had been inactive for aver 37 months. Is there a reason that you are digging up ancient threads about cabs and replying as though the conversations were still going on? Are you the owner of covermytractor.com? If so, this is not an appropriate way to advertise.

It is doubtful that the OP is still actively shopping. I would like to suggest that thinking about whether the belated reply will actually contribute to the OP's situation would be a good thing to do before posting in a thread that has been inactive for such a long time.

We welcome relevant participation in active threads.

I have now counted 5 ancient threads that GRA123 has dredged up on this subject in order to promote covermytractor.com.

I have PM'd him and suggested that he participate with relevant information in current discussions. If you feel the same, please do likewise.
