I'm getting old I guess. We spend a lot of $$$ on the tractor and all the implements, then won't spent the extra on your own comfort. Been there and done that. When it is -15 F (or 25 F for that matter) and a 25 mph wind, I don't much enjoy blowing snow with a snowmobile suit and helmet on. I bought a Curtis cab with heater and wiper. I don't finish the job looking like a snowman and don't even need gloves or heavy clothes. I love it and consider it money WELL spent. :2cents:

Hi Jim
Yes I agree we should treat ourselves well. I just think that the nice hard cabs are overpriced, a metal frame and glass box shouldn't cost 1/4 of the price of the tractor.
If they were a little more reasonable around $2K, there would probably be less home made cabs seen here on TBN! Not that they are all not nice. There are some great examples of craftsmanship here, but I think many have turned to home made in response to the prices, not because they really needed yet another project.
The other problem is actually trying to buy one. Finding a dealer local that has what I want had not been easy. And most of the manufacturers will not sell to the end user.

Jeff
Have to agree with you on the price and I did spend a few day and HOURS online, contemplating the purchase (cost, hard side, soft side, heater, wiper etc.). All in all it is over priced, but I sure enjoy it. Didn't realize they are that hard to come by. I got mine when I purchased the tractor, so it was simple. They even throw in the installation fee for the cab.

To everyone looking for a cab. My humble advise is to keep your options open. I was looking for a cab several years ago for my B7100 and ran into the same issues everyone has talked about. I found a new old stock Simplicity cab from a guy on Ebay for about $80. I figured maybe I could modify and if I couln't, I could probably resell. Well I got it, put it together per the instructions and found with a little modification, a little bend here and there, a few holes drilled and a little welding, I could make it work. I took some paint thinner and gently removed the painted on Simplicity logo and had a local sign shop make me some Kubota decals. I'm quite pleased with the results and have used it a couple of years with no issues.
