BX25 Curtis Cab

/ BX25 Curtis Cab #11
Here are some photos of my $75 cab. It's not pretty, but it keeps the snow off
of me. I got the idea here a few years ago. I can remove it in 1/2 hour
in the spring.

Did you get that idea from the bercomak cabs? I had one for an old tractor that looked a lot like it.

Am I the only one that thinks the various hard cabs, that though very nice, are overpriced?

No, With the new goretex materials available, you can pretty much dress for it.I am thinking about putting a cigerette lighter (10.00 at walmart) on my BX and using my heated motorcycle liner (200.00 from aerostich) in my ECWCS jacket (60.00 on ebay). I think that will be fine for me.
I don't think anyone here has tried that yet.

Doesn't the BX have a lighter outlet? Cause mine does.

That's the thread where I got the idea for my cheap cab. I found the cover
cheaper at another place. I believe it was only $64 plus shipping which was eight or ten dollars. I used 2x4's for a front frame that bolt through the factory
fender mounting holes & I used a piece of cheap particle board for the roof. I have closed the front in better with foam & covered the radiator inlet with plastic since the photos were taken. I have also put a hydraulic chute rotator on the blower. I attached a few pictures of that setup. It works great.

Nope. In fact I thought they were so overpriced for my former JD 790, that I went and traded it in on a factory cab Kubota.
If I was going to spend the money, it wasn't going to be big $$$ to Sims for a cab that was half fabric with no heater.

I'm getting old I guess. We spend a lot of $$$ on the tractor and all the implements, then won't spent the extra on your own comfort. Been there and done that. When it is -15 F (or 25 F for that matter) and a 25 mph wind, I don't much enjoy blowing snow with a snowmobile suit and helmet on. I bought a Curtis cab with heater and wiper. I don't finish the job looking like a snowman and don't even need gloves or heavy clothes. I love it and consider it money WELL spent. :2cents:

NY Yankees Fan (I won't hold that against you!) told me about this a few years ago and for the price, you can't beat it! Wpabx2230's looks like the same one. Northern Tools has them on sale now. I've seen some great looking homebuilt plywood cabs also.
