For anyone around New England, there is a used BX Curtis cab on the NH CL .... or at least there was a couple days ago.

Hello All
Happy Thanksgiving
Just checking in and asking again, does anyone out there in TBN actually have the new Curtis 1KBX25AS cab? Would you be willing to share your experience?
Please an I am not asking for the link to the manufacturers website, I can find that on my own.
Thanks

As it just so happens I just upgraded to a BX25 with the 1KBX25SS a couple of months ago. My old BX2200 had a Curtis cab as well. I realize that the cab you are asking about is the "hard sided" version but the rest of the cab should be pretty similar. I am impressed with the cab over all and personally I wouldn't bother with the extra money for hard sided as the soft sided doors come off very readily if you want extra. I think the only weakness the cab is going to have from what I can tell is that the rear curtain snaps to the frame which leaves air gaps all around the edges. Other than that the cab is very well built and very roomy feeling. I'm short enough so that the pop up top isn't really a benefit to me but it works real easily. I haven't used it in the cold yet so I can't yet say how the heat works but the heat in my old cab was adequate and this heater has 5000 btu more so I'm assuming it will be better. One more thing I should mention is that you will need to fill the fuel tank through the back curtain, or at least that's the only way I can see to do it.

Hope this is helpful.

Thank you for your reply. Yes the rear curtain is something that I am concerned with. I would rather see a removable rear panel with a glass window. What is the purpose of the octagonal cover over the fuel cap?
Thanks

You know, I really haven't got a clue! LOL. I agree with you, a solid panel would be nice. They don't offer it though. I thought I might get a roll of foam weatherstripping tape and tape around the snaps to seal the gaps.

Here's a couple more pictures. If you want more info or pictures of something specific let me know. The brochure and online site leave a lot to be desired I found.
