Has anyone ever used a 2 bottom plow with there BX24? Or even a 1 bottom? I have a section of garden I want to plant but the area is to big to deal with with a walk behind tiller. This area probably hasn't been turned over in 40 years. My thinking is I could run over it with the plow then come back and till when it has been broken up.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

In my owners manual (BX2350), they list it being able to pull a one bottom. I've never tried it though.

I think the owners manual will tell you the size of implements. If I remeber on my bx-23 it said 1 bottom 12"(?) but I don't have a plow (yet grin)

I use a 12 in on a bx2200 i works great as it is set up right. your ground will be harder the first time you plow it. even so a 12 in plow set up right should do it fine. you have enought hp. but traction will be your limting factor. chains on the back even in 4 wd. also mow first let sit a couple of days so it not slippy from the cutting and so the plow will not jamb up as quickly.

no way it can pull that with the bx, mine pulls a single
bottom good on old ground thats been broke up. traction
is a challenge on unbroke ground. again theres alot to
getting everything set up right on the bx.

basically the BX can only handle a middle buster , or like a 1 bottom plow. If you determined to use a 2 bottom plow- I gotta say, I hope you are in sandy/loamy soil with no roots, rocks, clay. Or you may need to do a daul tow, got another BX around ?:D If you already have the 2 bottom plow, then can you remove one of the plow shares off?

This one works well for me, don't think I could pull two though. I've measured straight across the bottom of the plow and from the landslide to the back tip of the share, it is 14".

Thanks for the reply. I found what I think is a pretty good deal on a two bottom. I figure I could just take one off and use one to start with. Then a year or two down the road I could use both when the ground been broke a few times. Anyone have pictures or video of a BX in action with a one bottom? Sure would like to see it so I can say I seen it with my own eyes:D

One other question that I have is about the middle buster. How deep do these generally go? Does it lay off rows or just lift the sod and lay it back down? Or does all this depend on angle of the top link? When I break this land up I will be tilling with a walk behind tiller (Since I already have). I am trying to keep myself from taking a beating on this project.
This is new to me so I am trying to make the best choices up front. Thanks again.

milkman how dep do you plow.? from the picture it loks like the couter is nearly as deep as the bottom of the plow. i thought you set that only a couple of in's. .just to cut the sod. and milkman had a viedo on you tube plowing if i remember right.
